About the team You will be an integral part of the Global Technology Platforms (GTP) team at IDC , where you will play a key role in building, enhancing, and maintaining platforms that empower Walmart’s developer community. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new features, ensuring platform reliability, and driving product stability to meet the evolving needs of our engineers. By focusing on scalability, performance, and intuitive user experiences, you will directly contribute to improving developer productivity and efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless solutions, proactively resolve issues, and continuously optimize workflows. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on shaping the productivity tools and developer experience at Walmart, enabling thousands of engineers to innovate faster and deliver high-quality solutions to millions of customers. What You’ll Do : As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for Design, build, test and deploy software for distributed microservices with specific business logic to production with continuous integration frameworks and event driven frameworks. Develop and deploy software tools, programs, and metric monitoring processes to address production issues and operational costs. Communication is also key as you will need to work closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers. Act as a product-focused Full Stack Engineer , experimenting with new ideas and delivering engaging platform capabilities. Perform root cause analysis to solve business-critical problems and identify opportunities for improvement. Build scalable, highly available distributed systems using modern technologies and frameworks. Design and implement RESTful services and platform APIs with a focus on performance, security, and reliability. Collaborate and share expertise with the global Walmart tech community to influence and strengthen platform engineering. Provide production support , troubleshooting, and resolution for live systems to ensure high availability. What You’ll bring: 5-9 years of experience in design and development of highly scalable applications and platform development. Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns Strong expertise in Java and deep understanding of JVM internals (concurrency, multithreading). Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JAX-RS with solid design and coding skills. Frontend development skills in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, React, Redux, Webpack, Node.js, React Native Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals : algorithms, data structures, database concepts, and SQL. Hands-on experience implementing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and RESTful Web Services . Proven ability to build and manage cloud-based applications . Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability, logging, monitoring, and alerting to
