Job Description What is the opportunity? The Senior Manager contributes to the success of the team by leading the analysis of business requirements and the subsequent translation into functional specifications as well as writing and executing test scripts to ensure quality of deliverables. It is essential for the analyst to provide reference data expertise and build effective relationships with business units and development teams across RBC. Supporting our data governance and quality controls, as well as actively participating in business and regulatory initiatives that have a significant impact to the firm and our clients. The role is aimed at developing an operational management of data, focused on improving efficiencies, reducing costs whilst also minimizing risk. Working collaboratively with CLMG partners, COO Group, Risk, IT and Front office businesses partners throughout the bank, to understand their requirements and relevant business processes in order to deliver change and ultimately improve client service. What will you do? Key Responsibilities Business as Usual Meeting with project stakeholders that require securities reference data to review, understand, and capture requirements. Documenting projects in a shared location to support knowledge transfer among team members. Any ongoing support or controls required as the result of a project will be documented and reviewed with the securities data reference data operations team to ensure a seamless transition from the project phase to the support phase. Working with the securities reference data operations teams to review and identify the root cause of data problems and work to address and resolve by implementing systematic solutions. Provide subject matter expertise within the securities reference data space to internal RBC clients. Writing queries to capture data in securities reference data repositories to support analysis and testing. Work with external data vendors to understand how vendor changes will impact existing processes and address impacts as required. Provide analysis in the selection of new external data vendors or new data sets from existing external vendors to meet project requirements. Staying abreast of industry standards, best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements. Relationship Management Work collaboratively with business partners, IT and CLMG alike. Be accountable to senior management around metrics, timelines & project expectations; prepare materials for distribution among senior forums Strive to proactively seek out efficiencies in processes. Proactively escalate issues as they arise and coordinate with the leadership team to ensure that we are able to manage expectations. Optimize Securities Reference data processes to reduce cycle time, manual effort and improve both end user experiences and realize cost savings. Linking multiple functions and processes to a common source of data, reducing operational costs associated with maintaining multiple data silos
