Job Description What is the opportunity? The Investigations Officer is a key contact for Capital Market Clients, correspondent banks and RBCFG units, responsible for providing exceptional customer care through the resolution of investigations and compensation claims raised as result of settlements rising from trading, trade finance and other commercial/retail activities. Through ongoing training initiatives and continuous self- development, the investigations officer will work with an effort to operate in an efficient / effective cross-functional team to ensure timely resolution of investigations, loss prevention and risk mitigation. What will you do? The responsibilities may vary but could include: Responsible for managing an investigation/compensation queue under prescribed guidelines, ensuring departmental goals are met; applies solid knowledge of Treasury/Retail Operations, its procedures, methods and systems to effectively investigate and resolve all designated items. Responsible for ensuring established caseload benchmarks are maintained through individual and team efforts without compromise to the quality/effectiveness of the work. Applies knowledge of payment methods, terms and conditions, general operating policies, rules and regulations used by correspondents, clients and their agent banks in the day-to-day handling of investigation cases. Support the process of creating, updating and maintaining desk procedures. Deliver high quality, timely and error-free service to clients and service partners. Display a strong commitment to teamwork; open two-way communication and good staff morale. What do you need to succeed? Must-have University degree or College Diploma or any equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting fields. Work experiences in wires payments, and/or banking/financial operations/trading activity role. Highly developed communication skills, strong leadership, organizational, decision making/problem solving skills, analytical/conceptual skills. Strong ability to exercise a high degree of judgement and negotiation. Strong understanding of banking and capital markets practices and activities. Adaptability in learning and using various systems and applications effectively. Flexible to cover holiday dates on team rotational basis and overtime when needed. Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Treasury/Retail Operations, its procedures, systems (primarily RIMMS, RATS, StorQM, Intellimatch, Intellitracs, Branch procedures RFX). Solid knowledge of international banking procedures and policies, industry standards and best working practices. Knowledge and understanding of Nostro Standing orders and audit/SOX requirements.
