Job Description What is the opportunity? The Director, Insurance Performance Management is a key member of the Insurance Finance team, responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and providing support to the Insurance executive team. The incumbent will manage a team providing value added, timely and accurate reporting, forecasting & key metric information in support of strategic decision making. What will you do? Manage the hub of financial performance information for the Insurance business. Responsible for the development of insightful analysis and actionable information working with business leaders, including the COO, Chief Digital & Data Officer and CFO of Insurance, and other senior staff. Provide insightful and actionable financial and business analytics of Insurance results, developing complex presentations to support executive decision-making. Coordinate ongoing forecasts, annual plan, 5-year outlook and line of business reviews with a comprehensive understanding of forward-looking trends, including managing the stress-testing exercise for Insurance (in partnership with the Reporting & Controls team). Review existing processes and tools and recommend improvements. Oversee benchmarking and peer comparisons, present findings and recommendations to senior management. Provide financial advisory services supporting various programs across Insurance. People and team management - fostering an engaged and innovative environment where staff are tapping into financial and non-financial data across the enterprise to drive value-add financial analysis, while keeping current with market trends, the competitive environment, and identification of business opportunities. Manage changes to current regulatory and accounting standards (i.e. OSFI, IFRS) to ensure they are properly reflected within all forecasting, planning and strategic initiatives presented to senior management in order to identify impacts to the business. Key Finance contact for the Insurance platform ensuring regular reporting, analysis and performance management requirements is meeting the needs of the Chief Financial Officer, the Insurance Operating Committee and Head Office through timely, actionable and insightful reporting. This requires the incumbent to drive to conclusion and present results as appropriate. What you need to succeed? Must Have Experience in insurance, preferably life insurance, group benefits and/ or both. 5 years' experience in management reporting and analysis, and/ or FP&A (including development of key metrics/business drivers) Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills required, with data mining skill and ability to explore new technologies to enhance the delivery of financial information Strong team and people management abilities, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests o
