Job Description What is the opportunity? We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner to join the Edinburgh office on a permanent basis. As a Paraplanner, you will have a broad understanding of core Financial Planning solutions and have gained knowledge through exposure to client planning scenarios. You will analyse our clients' aims and needs to construct solutions as a tool for advisors to communicate to clients. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality technical support to wealth managers and clients alike. You will provide guidance to more junior team members and support senior team members as required to contribute to completion of tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard for the team. RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements. What will you do? Prepare detailed financial plans, suitability reports, and recommendation documents for Wealth Managers. Support the preparation of client review and new client meetings. Conduct research and analysis across investments, pensions, protection, and tax planning strategies. Review client portfolios, ensuring recommendations align with objectives, risk tolerance, and compliance requirements. Liaise with Wealth Managers, Administrators, and product providers to ensure the smooth delivery of advice and implementation. Maintain accurate client records and support the ongoing development of advice processes. What do you need to succeed? Must-have You will have attained CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent as a minimum and ideally working towards CII Level 6 or equivalent Previous experience as a Paraplanner. Strong understanding of financial planning principles, tax wrappers, pensions, and investments. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients. Confident using financial planning software Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Nice-to-have Attained CII Level 6 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent. What is in it for you?
