Application Deadline: 05/07/2026 Address: 100 King Street West Job Family Group: Audit, Risk & Compliance The Senior Advisor, Conflicts Management, BMO Ethics Office is an individual contributor reporting to the Director, Ethical Culture & Anti鈥慍orruption. The role provides expert, enterprise鈥憌ide advisory support on conflicts management and ethical business conduct and is accountable for the governance of BMO鈥檚 enterprise conflicts management program. The Senior Advisor delivers senior鈥憀evel advice aligned with BMO鈥檚 Code of Conduct, enterprise objectives, and risk appetite, acts as an ambassador for ethical culture, and supports key areas of the Ethics team, including Conduct Risk, Anti鈥慍orruption, and Speaking Up. The role partners closely with Operating Groups (first line), Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Global Investigations, Employee Relations, Legal, and Audit. It supports governance forums through timely escalation, risk insights, and decision鈥憆eady materials, while maintaining clear accountability that risk ownership and remediation remain with the business. The Senior Advisor, will have the following key responsibilities: Enterprise Conflicts of Interest Lead Acts team lead accountable for governance and oversight of the conflicts management program, including establishing and communicating expectations, reporting, control development, monitoring, and testing to assess program effectiveness. Serves as a subject matter expert on enterprise conflicts of interest requirements, providing guidance and recommendations on misconduct investigations and escalated inquiries. Reviews and adjudicates executive outside activity submissions, assessing potential conflicts and risk considerations, and provides practical, reasoned recommendations to the Director, Chief Ethics Officer, and other executives on approvals and conditions. Establishes and leads an enterprise conflicts forum with Compliance partners to promote consistent interpretation and application of conflicts requirements across the bank. Monitors industry trends and best practices related to conflicts management and recommends enhancements to the program. Ethics & Conduct Advisory Provides expert interpretation of the Code of Conduct and ethics鈥憆elated policies/procedures (including Conflicts and Anti鈥慍orruption) and supports consistent enterprise application. Translates policy and enterprise expectations into practical, risk鈥慴ased guidance for employees and leaders. Manages and advises on escalated matters, including whistleblower concerns, gifts and entertainment exceptions, and other complex issues requiring Ethics engagement. Serves as a trusted advisor on complex business decisions, including new initiatives and emerging risks.
