About the Team: The Walmart Item Orchestrator team comprises skilled engineers dedicated to building a high-performance platform managing millions of queries per second across billions of items. Utilizing technologies like Java, Rust, Kafka, Cassandra, and Kubernetes, the team develops scalable, low-latency systems. Focused on collaboration and technical excellence, members deliver resilient, efficient features aligned with Walmart’s platform and business objectives. The team emphasizes continuous improvement through iterative development, knowledge sharing, and best practices to ensure reliable, high-quality software that meets demanding performance standards. What You'll Do: Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives. Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing. Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence and development velocity. Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes. Monitor application performance, support defect management, and promote continuous improvement and innovation. Mentor peers, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering excellence and team growth.
