Job Description What is the opportunity? The role of Manager, Operations Process Owner – Digital Cheque Processing (DCP) focuses on Project Management, Operational Excellence, and Payment Processing. The manager will lead timely project oversight, process ownership, and risk and controls management for Digital Cheque Processing as part of RBC’s Payments and Trades Operations (PTO). PTO is accountable for 50 trillion dollars of transactions each year and is a highly dynamic segment. This role is responsible for managing operational processes, while enhancing efficiency, identifying productivity opportunities, and reducing risk. The manager will lead transformational changes over multi-year time horizons through the implementation of next generation optimization and automation technologies, artificial intelligence, advanced reporting and analytics . Success is delivering transformational changes that achieves measurable improvements in process efficiency, operator productivity, operational risk reduction, as well as client and employee satisfaction. What will you do? Champion the identification of continuous process improvement initiatives, implementing innovative solutions and maintaining Digital Cheque Processing (DCP) documentation in support of Payments and Trades Operations (PTO). Establish, or re-engineer, processes to support transformational programs and other changes impacting operational processes. Identify opportunities for efficiencies, including optimization and transformation through more effective use of intelligent automation and AI/ML-driven process improvement. Collaborate on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) while partnering with PTO leadership to influence external processes and operator behaviors that impact efficiency. Work with IT, Business and Vendor partners supporting & testing DCP release builds. Proactively identify operational risk and control gaps in cheque processing, ensuring timely resolution and enhanced processes. Influence and satisfy the business needs of multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, complex and demanding operations and technology environment. Act as subject matter expert in the development of training as necessary to support business, IT, and operational partners. Plan, direct and coordinate activities in assigned projects to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope and budget. Lead and drive end-to-end business transformation initiatives, owning the full transformation lifecycle from strategy through to execution. What do you need to succeed? Must-have: Strong understanding of cheque and payments processing operations, financial industry knowledge, and related payment and digital technologies. 2-3 years’ experience with end-to-end (E2E) process design, gap analysis, process mapping, documentation, remediation and optimization. Proven success in leading transformational initiatives, driving measurable improvements through effective change management strategies
